How many indie game festivals are there?+

More than a hundred a year, and the number keeps growing. Most are small regional showcases rather than the handful of big names everyone knows, which is exactly why they are hard to keep track of and easy to miss.

How do I find festival application deadlines?+

Most festivals announce their submission window on their own site, so finding them normally means checking dozens of pages by hand. This calendar collects the deadlines in one place so you can see what is open, what is closed, and where to apply.

Is the calendar free?+

Yes. Browsing every festival, deadline and apply link is free and needs no account. To track how a festival affected your sales you would use the Steam analytics side of IndieCtrl, which is part of the paid plans.

Are game festivals actually worth applying to?+

It depends on the festival and on your game, which is the honest answer most lists avoid. Some drive a visible wishlist spike; others cost a submission fee and return nothing measurable. That is why IndieCtrl puts festival dates on the same chart as your wishlists and sales - so after a couple of cycles you are choosing from your own evidence instead of reputation.

Deadlines are collected from festival organisers' own announcements and public submission pages, and re-checked continuously. Always confirm the date on the organiser's site before you submit - if you spot something out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.
